A 4-part Buddhist Relationship series from May 16th – May 27th, 2020
Most Ven. Bhante Vimalaramsi Mahathero presents for us a 4 Talk Series from his present Lockdown location in Arpola-GOA, India. This will help us create more harmony within our relationships during the COVID-19 Lockdown time which has been difficult for everyone. For background on Bhante Vimalaramsi and Ven. Khantikhema, you can link over to www.dhammasukha.org The series is presented on ZOOM over a two week period. Each session will start with a short Q&A Capsule by Mataji (no more than 20 minutes long) followed by Ven. Bhante Vimalaramsi presenting a one hour subject talk. The subjects are 1. What is Meditation? 2. What is Mindfulness? 3. What is the 8-Fold Path? And 4. How can we practice all the time in life to help us stop reacting and start responding better in Relationships? Following each session, you are asked to send in questions by email to email@example.com with the subject line saying “SERIES TALK ONE QUESTION” we will provide Bhante’s answers for you in written email replies. The next session will begin with a 20 min capsule summary before the next 1 hr talk proceeds. This will be the pattern for presentation.

The first session begins with Mataji talks briefly about how we can use the 4 Noble Truths within our own meditation & carry this over into solving day to day suffering. ... Then Bhante describes what the Buddha’s original objective in meditation described in the early texts could have meant and how you can test its use for yourselves by repeating this same practice for yourself today. Wednesday May 20, 7:00-8:30PM- subject: What is Mindfulness? Start with a brief Q&A capsule. Then Bhante Vimalaramsi reviews how this is connected to meditation, and refines what Mindfulness actually is an how it can be used for a day to day tool in life to find more peace and calm in our relationships. if we keep the practice going all the time within our life the Buddha reveals how we can keep our mind’s lighter and sharper for a more productive and happier life.
Saturday May 23rd, 7:00-8:30PM- subject: What is the Noble 8-Fold Path? Start with a brief Q&A capsule. Then Bhante teaches us the 8-Fold Path from the Suttas directly and talks about a higher meaning that can help us carry all of the path into our lives more fully and why we should do this.
Wednesday May 27th, 7:00-8:30PM- subject: Did the Buddha give us an all the time practice to apply all the time to reduce suffering? Start with a brief Q&A capsule. What happens when you take your Samatha and Vipassana knowledge, yoke them together and begin living the teaching you have heard from the Buddha for such a long time? How does practicing the Tranquil Wisdom Insight Meditation Bhante teaches help us find more peace in life? How can we keep it going?
